About the Event
Class One - Wed. Jan 27th
*Bring a photo of a self portrait using a strong light source. Bring in 2 to 5 objects from home to use for a still life.
>Experiment with different materials.
+Mix & match using colored pencils, graphite pencils, markers, crayons, acrylic paint pens.
+Learn how to create a still life. Sketch the same still life 3 times using different mediums for each drawing.
>Add shading to a drawing.
+Learn how to use hatching and crosshatching to draw from the self portrait photograph.
Class Two - Wed. Feb 3rd
>Become a Graphic Artist.
+Brainstorm your own business and sketch out a logo design.
>Get Some Perspective.
+Draw an outdoor scene of your dream business. Imagine standing in front of it...what is inside? What can you see? What is outside of the business? Add your business name and logo on the front window or sign of the business.
*Draw using different mediums.
Class Three - Wed. Feb 17th
>Make your own masterpiece!
+Use all your new skills to create one large drawing. Choose favorite materials, shading, and perspective to complete the masterpiece.
*Lay out all your drawings on the table in front of you to get some extra inspiration or sketch out an idea in the sketchbook provided.

The Girl Scouts will be able to keep:
- 14”x20” portfolio with handle (Open Space Logo on the portfolio)
- One Sketchbook
- 12 different colored color pencils
- 6 different graphite grades of pencils
- One Eraser
- One Pencil Pouch
- All paper for projects is provided throughout the classes.
